shopOS
Retail point-of-sale and business operations software for shops that need one system for the counter and the back office.
Overview
shopOS is a ZedOS AI product direction for retailers and supermarkets. The intent is a single set of tools for selling, knowing what is on the shelf, and seeing the day clearly. It is being designed as software a merchant can run, not as a slide about retail.
Who it is for
Independent retailers, small supermarket operators, and multi-terminal shops in Bahrain and, later, other GCC markets. It is not aimed at a global enterprise suite, and it is not offered as a finished package.
Core workflows
- Checkout at one or more terminals
- Product and price maintenance
- Inventory movement and stock visibility
- Customer records tied to a sale
- Delivery handoff when an order leaves the shop
- End-of-day reporting for the owner
How it is intended to work
- 01Staff sell from a terminal designed for speed and correction.
- 02Catalog, stock, and customer changes share one data model.
- 03A sale can be completed when the network is poor, then reconciled.
- 04The owner reads a report of what sold, what moved, and what is still open.
Technical considerations
- Desktop-first operation is a design goal, using a local database so the counter does not depend on a perfect connection.
- A shared server store is the direction for multi-terminal shops.
- The product records a payment. Processing the payment with a provider is a separate decision and is not part of the current build.
